Meet Your Instructor

I'm Alisha, founder of Roots & Returns.

"I hold grief-literate ritual spaces rooted in culinary practice—because sometimes the body needs a way to feel what words can’t carry.” I’m Alisha Madeline Smith, founder of Roots & Returns and creator of Joy-Centered Culinary Healing™. After my second miscarriage, I needed something softer than sterile advice—something my body could actually do. I began using the kitchen as a place to feel what I’d been carrying and to practice coming back to myself in small, real ways.
Bake Through It is not therapy. It’s a grief-literate ritual practice space held with clear boundaries, where you’re invited to be witnessed without performing healing.

FAQ

Is this therapy?
No. This is a grief-literate ritual practice space held with trauma-informed boundaries. We’re not

a substitute for clinical or emergency support.

What if I miss a session?
You’ll get the replay. You can participate live or on your own time.

Do I need to be a baker?
No. We use outcome-free bakes and no-bake options. This is about practice, not perfection.
